Opportunity:
Join us as a Senior Publicity Consultant and bring your vibrant energy to our party. We're on the lookout for a creative PR genius who's as enthusiastic about forging media relationships as they are about securing the spotlight for clients. With a diverse client portfolio, adaptability is your superpower. It's time to level up your career, salary, and life. We believe work should spark joy and ignite passion every day. At Mandate, we blend professional prowess with personal well-being, offering a benefits package that's as much about enrichment as remuneration. Elevate your career where the weekends start early, and the possibilities are endless.
Your Mission:
Execute well-targeted and timely media outreach programmes - curate winning PR collaterals across the full spectrum of editorial types: proactive comments, reactive commentary, news releases, thought leadership articles, feature submissions, media briefings, consumer advice pieces, written Q&As, etc.
Plan, research, draft (and keep updated) compelling digital press kits for clients - including executive biographies, talking points, fact and data sheets, research findings, company profiles, approved imagery, etc.
Dive into research projects and planning for client campaigns and media targeting strategies. You will view new and unseen media titles as potential new opportunities for your clients.
Lead ongoing advanced editorial mapping to ensure we are pitching out to press in a timely, well-organised and thorough manner with due care and aforethought.
Support the Directors in agency-wide marketing and business development activities - participating in credential and chemistry meetings, conducting outreach to prospects, brainstorming creative ideas and taking part in new business pitches.
Confident to proactively represent the agency both in person and online via your own social media posting and attendance at live events. We want you to throw yourself into professional networking in all its guises.
Report on campaign management activities and progress against editorial KPIs - delivering insights and updates to clients in reports and update meetings. Ensuring nothing is missed and we are shouting loudly about the brilliant work we do and the great results we achieve.
Oversee the management of daily media coverage - ensuring nothing but the best for our clients.
Help guide the next generation of fresh PR talent that joins the agency through daily mentoring and encouragement.
You Will Be:
An avid consumer of a wide tranche of media outside of work - including weekend papers, radio, TV, podcasts and lifestyle magazines - making you well-tuned into the UK's news beat, abreast of trends, culturally clued up and knowledgeable on current affairs.
Engaged with social media by default - TikTok, Insta, YouTube, LinkedIn etc - what’s trending, what’s not, what’s hot and who's who. You won’t be phased by using a hashtag or knowing which ones to use.
Savvy about the whole media landscape, including broadcast, print and online - you’ll know the different tones between media outlets, for example, The Daily Telegraph versus The Sun. You’ll feel the void between BBC Breakfast and Good Morning Britain. You’ll know the anchor news presenters by first name as you watch and listen.
An equal blend of personable, professional, and fun - with a positive, honest, and confident demeanour.
An experienced PR specialist with impeccable skills across all media outreach formats. Organised, with ninja-like administration processes and multi-tasking mastery. Inquisitive, analytical and solutions-led when problem-solving. Unafraid to kill ambiguity by asking questions and clarifying what’s expected.
Switched-on and emotionally intelligent - adept at adapting to different settings and scenarios, with the ability to do a great ‘poker face’ when diplomacy calls. Cool as a cucumber under pressure and fiery like a Scotch Bonnet when needed!
Eager to grow your career and be part of our business as it grows. Willing to go the extra mile to impress and take on above and beyond responsibilities. With an appreciation that effort and input = output and reward.
Keen to embrace learning opportunities, develop new skills and share these with peers for the greater good and success of the wider team.
Open to constructive feedback and will strive to continually improve.
Proficient in the science, art and wizardry of all things MS Teams and Office 365.
